# SuperPharmacyPlus MCP server launch

**Originally published:** 22 April 2026

**Native shopping connection updated:** 2026-10-01

SuperPharmacyPlus provides two separate Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections: a Pharmalama knowledge server for enriched Australian pharmacy and mobility product discovery, and a native BigCommerce storefront server for shopping and checkout.

Connecting to one server does not connect to the other. Pharmalama remains the source of enriched catalogue knowledge; it does not proxy BigCommerce cart operations.

## Live endpoint

```
https://ai.superpharmacyplus.com.au/mcp
```

- **Transport:** MCP Streamable HTTP
- **Mode:** stateless; clients do not need a session ID
- **Authentication:** none
- **Rate limit:** 60 requests per minute per IP
- **Region and currency:** Australia and AUD

The endpoint accepts MCP `POST` requests. It is intended for AI assistants, agent connectors and other MCP-compatible clients.

## Native BigCommerce shopping endpoint

```
BigCommerce MCP is beta. On 2026-10-01, the live storefront endpoint advertised search_products, get_product_details, add_item_to_cart, update_cart_item, remove_item_from_cart, create_checkout_url. Tool availability and schemas can change; clients should initialize the server and rediscover `tools/list`. In the observed live schema, `get_product_details` accepts `productIds: [bigcommerce_product_id]`. The endpoint did not advertise `related_products`.
## Supported tools
- `ask` — NLWeb v0.55 Appendix A natural-language questions with structured query, context and preference fields.
- `search_products` — natural-language semantic product search with catalogue filters.
- `get_product` — a full enriched product record by numeric ID or SKU.
- `find_alternatives` — curated alternative, cross-sell and accessory recommendations.
- `get_category` — a category authority page with narrative, products and FAQs.
- `get_brand` — a brand authority page and the products carried for that brand.
- `compare_products` — side-by-side comparison of two to four products.
## Read-only by design
The **Pharmalama knowledge server** only reads the published catalogue. It does not add items to carts, create orders, process payments, change product data or provide checkout. Native shopping/cart operations belong to the separate BigCommerce endpoint; Oscar remains the sole BigCommerce product-metadata writer.
Connect both MCP servers explicitly; discovery links do not install the second connection.
Use superpharmacyplus-knowledge for enriched semantic discovery, FAQs, specifications, comparisons, alternatives and brand/category guides.
Use superpharmacyplus-shopping for live storefront commerce data, product variants/options, shopper carts and checkout handoff. Qualify search_products by server: knowledge takes query; shopping takes term.
Knowledge results expose bigcommerce_product_id, the BigCommerce product entity ID, not a SKU, feed offer ID or variant ID. Re-resolve the chosen item on the shopping server before purchase; the verified native get_product_details input is productIds: [bigcommerce_product_id].
Discover current native tools/list schemas at connection time and after tool changes; fail explicitly on incompatible schemas rather than guessing. The audited tool snapshot is not a current health check.
Ask the shopper to select required variants/options and confirm cart changes. Do not guess a colour, dose or size. inStock alone does not establish purchasability; never promise stock quantities or final freight from the knowledge snapshot.
Keep one isolated native session per shopper. Do not reuse session IDs across customers. Stencil chat widgets require browser-generated session sync and reverse cart sync; re-initialize after login/logout.
Pharmalama public-content compliance filtering does not automatically apply to native BigCommerce tools. Do not make clinical recommendations or advertise restricted medicines merely because native search returns them.
If native shopping is unavailable, keep knowledge access working and link to product_url for website purchase; do not claim a cart was updated. Oscar remains the sole BigCommerce product-metadata writer.
Prices are returned in AUD and availability uses Australian retail terms: `in_stock`, `out_of_stock`, `backorder` and `discontinued`. Prescription and pharmacist-only products are excluded from public AI surfaces.
Pharmalama's public-surface compliance rules do not automatically govern direct connections to native BigCommerce MCP or other clients. Storefront widgets that need a shopper's current login/cart must implement BigCommerce's documented per-shopper Stencil session sync; never share shopper sessions.
## Discovery and installation
The machine-readable discovery manifest is available at [/.well-known/mcp.json](https://ai.superpharmacyplus.com.au/.well-known/mcp.json). It describes the live endpoint, current tools, limits and related catalogue links.
See the [two-server installation guide](https://ai.superpharmacyplus.com.au/mcp/install) for the documented Claude Desktop mcp-remote configuration and native session requirements. The [companion connection record](https://ai.superpharmacyplus.com.au/.well-known/mcp/connections.json) describes both endpoints; it does not automatically install either server or guarantee client-directory listings.
The [two-server connection record](https://ai.superpharmacyplus.com.au/.well-known/mcp/connections.json) lists each endpoint and its responsibility. It is separate from the Pharmalama-only [knowledge manifest](https://ai.superpharmacyplus.com.au/.well-known/mcp.json).
The installation example documents two separate client connections; it does not claim that every AI platform supports connecting to both servers. Pharmalama MCP requests are logged for crawler analytics under the synthetic crawler name `mcp-client`.
